I have not posted anything to my blog in a while. It was so busy before Christmas and then I had relatives in town, so we are going to catch up on the last 2 weeks.
First, Christmas Eve was so much fun this year. We went to Christmas Eve service at church and saw many friends, listened to some great music and the Christmas Story. Ending it with a candle light service that was so special. I wished I could've taken a picture of the girls holding their candles it was so precious. We then went to our neighbors house for Christmas Eve dinner, Rick, Cara, & Niko. They invite us every year and we always look forward to it. We are so blessed to have such great neighbors that have become family to us.
Christmas morning was so much fun with the girls. They both got what they asked for from Santa. We have this rule that you can only ask for 3 things from Santa, because when Baby Jesus was born he received three gifts. This year Kimberly asked me what happened if she asked for four things, I explained that she would only receive three. She thought about that a bit and then decided she wanted a Barbie sports car. I quickly told her she was too big for that. She has not quite got the complete understanding of how this works yet, but she was definitely going to make it work to her advantage. We had many discussions about the true meaning of Christmas. It will come with time...
We were able to spend the afternoon at my sister's house on Christmas. It was so great to relax and be with all our family and extended family. We had a great time and ate some great food. I am not the best cook so usually just let my sister tell me what she wants me to bring. It all works out and we have the best meals together with everyone. We sure do miss our relatives in Tennessee though. This Christmas was the first time in many many years that I actually wanted to go back to Tennessee for Christmas. We have not been there to visit in almost two years and we do miss it so much. I am so thankful to have family here in Texas & Tennessee. We hope to spend some time in Tennessee next summer. It is so hard the older the kids get and more involved with activities to work out all the schedules.
After Christmas, my mom came in town from Tennessee. My girls call her Memaw. We love to spend time with Memaw. We kept her busy hopping from house to house visiting everyone, but on New Year's Eve she was at my house. New Year's Eve is Kimberly's Birthday and Memaw's and Uncle Ron's Birthday. So it was fun to have here to celebrate with all of us.
The pictures listed are of Andrea, Kimberly and Memaw on New Year's Eve with their funny hats. The second picture is of Kimberly, Memaw and Uncle Ron with their Birthday Cake!!
As the year ends and I look back, I realized how blessed I am. It was a year that I do not want to do over! With that said, I am so thankful for my wonderful husband, beautiful girls, my very dear sister , Barbara, and her sweet family, and all of my family and friend that God has put in my life. I am thankful we got to spend some time with my mom this past week. And, I hope and Pray that we all have a wonderful year ahead of us!!
Happy New Year!!
