My Dancer

Well I am writing today to brag a little bit about my little dancer. Andrea has been dancing since she was 3 years old and has always loved it. In the last year or so she has formed a special interest in classical pointe ballet. She absolutely loves this, even when her feet are so sore and blistered. She joined a classical ballet company last year as an apprentice. This requires a huge commitment from her (and parents!) to do this. She dances 4 nights a week and most of Saturday. I was thinking the other day that not once has she complained about going to class since she started with this company. I know she knows it was a huge honor to make it as an apprentice, and her goal is to become a full company member by this next season. Andrea has made such improvements over the last few months, that she wanted to audition for Joffrey Ballet Workshop this summer. We decided not to do that yet - mainly due to the financial responsibilty it would be for us so quickly. If we wait till next year there is a possibility of a scholarship.
Andrea is so mature for her age and is so understanding of all the reasons we would like to wait till next year. I am just so proud of her and her accomplishments. She works so hard and still maintains a "B" average at school. There some subject she does struggle with more than others, but we deal with those as we can.

Andrea, mom and dad are so proud of you and love you so much! We just love to watch you dance and grow everyday. Remember when you were little we would read the book "My Mama has a dancing heart", now I think you are the one with a "dancing heart". We love you!
