I started out reading the first book to make sure it was okay for Andrea to read. Boy did I get sucked in...it is one of those you can hardly put down. So now that the DVD was coming out last Friday night, Andrea and her friend Carly decided that I needed to take them to the midnight release party for this movie. Being the "most wonderful mom ever" of course I took them. We went to Borders Bookstore to wait the arrival of one of the cast members. I could not believe all the teenage girls. What was more unbelievable were the screaming girls that were 25 years and up. I talked to a few of them while my girls were particpating in the party and trying win prizes, etc. It was quite funny to watch and I got caught up in the moment and made sure I got in a good spot to take a picture of the cast member making their midnight arrival. Andrea and Carly had a great time and won a poster. Then at Midnight here comes the director of the movie into the store, Catherine Hardwicke. Wow, the screams were deafening.

We then had to go to a DVD release party at Walmart. It was alot more quiet and we bought the DVD there and then had to go home and watch it immediately. We did not get in the bed till 3:30 that morning. I have not stayed up that late(on purpose) in probably 20 years. I am getting to old for this stuff. But it was fun to take them and watch them have such a great time.!!!
