Andrea is going to ABT!

For years, Andrea has talked about one day being able to go to American Ballet Theater in New York. It is a huge ballet school, like Joffrey and Juliard. Since her first year on pointe, she has had big dreams to go there one day.

In early January, there was an Audition for the Summer Workshop for American Ballet Theater. They travel around and do these workshops in the summer time to give professional training opportunities to up and coming ballerinas. We were planning on auditioning for several different workshops just for the experience of the audition. ABT was the first one she audtioned for and when we left that day, she had a look about her that was like "I did it". But we had to wait for 10 days before we would get the news. Then it came..one Thursday night she got the email that she was accepted into the ABT Summer Program at University of Alabama. Oh my was she excited!!! Even her dance instructor, Stephanie Best, could hardly contain her excitement for her.

She really has worked hard and deserves this opportunity. There were times when she thought she was not good enough, but we all know she has great talent and it is just hard sometimes to make her see her potential. This is a true first step in the direction she wants to go with her life. I know she is only 14, but this girl knows what she wants!! She is driven and she works hard for it too!

I am so proud of my little girl and all the sacrifices she makes to be able to do what she loves. She is such a special girl with loads of talent!! We are so happy for you Andrea and we love you so much!!
