July 4th Weekend Trip

We headed out last week to take Andrea to ABT Intensive at University of Alabama. We stopped at Aunt Sandra's had time to visit with my brothers, sisters, mom and all. We had a great time seeing everyone. Aunt Sandra knows how to throw a party that is for sure...she had enough food to last for days. It was so nice of her to host this crazy crew at her house!! We love you Aunt Sandra!!!

On Sunday, July 4th Andrea had to check in at ABT in Alabama, so Kimberly stayed with Memaw at Aunt Sandra's house for the day.

Andrea kissing her sister Kimberly goodbye as she is leaving to go to ABT. How sweet...

ABT..here we are

Andrea in her dorm room, she decorated with pictures of her favorite country music cowboys...

Andrea and her roomate Stefani, she was from Vancouver.

The view from Andrea's dorm room is the famous Stadium...God's Country as her Uncle Don would say and he was right there with her checking it out....

All three of us at the "Bear" Bryant's statue in the "Circle of Champions" at University of Alabama..it was such a pretty campus.

Back at Aunt Sandra's in time to watch fireworks that evening. Uncle Johnny and Garrett put on their own fireworks show before the real ones started. They also got the kids some fun Sparklers..what's the 4th without those!!!!

Kimberly enjoying her July 4th - swinging her Sparkler around

Garrett lighting sparklers for the kids...

The next day we went to Jackson and visited my Unka Bill and Aunt Barbara. We just don't get to see them enough! Jay really enjoyed his time with Bill and talking with him, and "seeing the sites" with him. It is always such a joy to be with both of them. Also, visited with my cousin Susie and her family. We had great fun. Her daughter Kelly and Kimberly hit it off right away.

My Aunt Barbara took me to visit my Grandma Willie. She is my Dad's mom. She has Altzheimer's and she did not remember me or Jay for most of our visit. She is 94 years old and for the first time I saw her with all gray hair. Just like my dad's. It was kinda strange looking at her and seeing my dad in her this time. We had a wonderfully fun time talking to her and spending time with her. She was a riot and cracking us up. Made me realize where my dad got his funny sense of humor. I wished I had taken pictures while there but I did not. But I will always remember that visit!! Love you Grandma!!
